Can I Really Trust God?

When we are children we fully trust our parents to be our providers, our protectors and our nurturers! It comes to us 'automatically' and we don't seem to have any problems doing just that! So as adults, why does it seem to be such a difficult thing to trust God, the creator of the entire universe, with our daily lives? Why do we hesitate to give over our cares and concerns to the one who can easily handle it all and provide everything we need in the areas of health, finances (a real big area), marriage and raising our children right? Is it supposed to be so difficult? No, not at all! Especially for those who call themselves Christians, who have put their faith in the blessed word of God and in the death, burial and resurrection of his son, Jesus! Fact is, however, that we do have a hard time putting that same kind of simple, unadulterated, faith in God to take care of us, always! We may feel that there is something 'extra' that we must do in order to bring about the results we are hoping for in a given situation! We just want to "help God get things done" and feel better about the situation, whatever it may be! News flash....God doesn't need any help from us to get things done! Did that hit home for anybody? It did for me!

I have a great deal of difficulty 'letting go' and letting God take over! After all, he is in control of it all anyway! He holds our very next breath in his hand, so why am I fearful that he can take good care of my own life? It doesn't make good sense, really! Worry is a common thing among Christians, sadly! For us to worry about certain things is a contradiction against the LORD and his saving grace! It goes against his character of loving us unconditionally! When we worry about anything we are telling God that he can't take care of us! Are you serious? The Almighty God created the universe and you in his own image and, yet, you say he can't do what you can do by worrying? That borders on blasphemy, folks! It's also absurd!

The LORD did not "save" us in order to leave us alone to fend for ourselves! He has promised that he "will never leave us or forsake us" (Psalms 9:10) for any reason whatsoever! He is faithful and his love for us is a constant love! You can depend upon it! In order for our lives to be blessed and secure, we must learn that we can fully trust God! To do otherwise is disobedience and sin! God deserves much better from us!

If we are struggling today with insecurity and worry over situations that we have no control over but God does then we need to take a "self examination" and fix the problem! Here's a hint....it's a "heart problem'! It's my prayer for us all that we begin today, right away, to make the change needed to put our trust in the most High God and rest in his power to meet all of our needs!

Is It What It Seems?

  • This life we have been given is not to be squandered or to live 'half hearted'! It's meant to be lived with the fullness of discovery and adventure! God expects us to live it with lots of energy and excitement, if at all possible!  Of course God knows that we all have struggles and hardships, as does everyone we know, and he knows what our future holds for us, already!  None the less, he stills watches and 'roots' for us to make it a good life, filled with new adventures and discoveries of our own potential and that of those we meet everyday! It's not complicated at all...God wants us to win! We are born to be winners! Born to be overcomers and encouragers as well and he has equipped us to do this! This thing we call 'life' can be fascinating, curious and terrifying at the same time with situations and circumstances which are out of our control, but we are still meant to live it! For those suffering from physical illness or disease, you may question the purpose of your own life and that's certainly understandable! It's quite a different existence when one is physically disabled or ill, but you can still find your purpose, your calling! Being sick or disabled is NOT your calling and you are NOT limited in your purpose! There are things you may not be able to do, and perhaps, much you can't do, but you still matter and you can add something unique and powerful to society! There are those you can reach that someone with good health may not be able to! You can still 'live'! God isn't done with you yet! With your own, personal gifts, you can serve other's and contribute much to this life! On a spiritual and an emotional level, we are all different! There are areas of humanity that we are just now beginning to explore and to discover! Areas of the brain that we have never attempted to utilize as yet! Indeed, our brains may hold the key to much of our existence! I'm not necessarily talking about anything physcic or para-normal but on a spiritual level! After all, I am convinced that God created us and since that is my belief, I am sure that our brains are probably the most complex and technical computer in the entire world! How can we fully know it's capabilities? There must be an endless amount of new information just waiting to be unlocked within our very own brains! Perhaps the cure for every disease is waiting in the fabric of the human brain! Maybe a new technology which would allow mankind to travel the stars or inventions waiting to be discovered that would revolutionize the way we travel here on the earth or in space! It could be that the most dynamic mathematical equations are pushing their way forward inside this tiny brain, waiting to be discovered! So much is possible and much has been learned about mankind's brain that is quite exciting!  Whether you are a map-maker, a fireman, a doctor, a librarian or a writer, you have something to offer which could be the spark that lights the next 'big' thing to come in scientific or medical all discovery! No matter what we may have been told by someone who "doesn't know any better" tells you that you aren't going to amount to much, you must ignore these words! You were miraculously and wonderfully created and you have a specific 'assignment' to complete and, most likely, it has much to do with helping others! We are all here for each other, despite what we have learned by the life we have been 'made' to live!  I say 'made' because the so-called 'powers that be' have dictated to us! Those people are what I call, "life suckers" or "dream stealers", and they have no claim on our lives!  God is ready to reveal to us the plans he has made for each of us before we were even born! A perfect plan to prosper us and not to harm us (Isaiah 26:11) and he is just waiting for us to realize it! No matter what stage of life you might be in, you are ordained by the Almighty to succeed and proceed, ahead, 'full steam'! Today is the day and your journey is just beginning!

Our Battle part 2

It certainly seems like Christians worldwide are immersed in many forms of persecution and trials today! So many of friends and aquaintances of mine have expressed their own, personal struggles and attacks from every side, it appears, and much of the trials touch the area of health! I can't help but think of Job who became a target of satan in his attempts to mock God and tempt Job to turn his back on God! Neither attempt succeeded! In fact, Job was such a 'godly' man that he was blessed abundantly by God after going through a 'hell on earth, including a wife who wanted him to "just curse God and die"! She didn't have the faith that Job had and he called her a 'foolish woman for her unbelief and stupidity! The devil had to tuck his tail and run away after that miserable effort!

God is always faithful to keep his word and he does so even today! We don't need to doubt our creator! When he says he will " never leave us nor forsake us", that's just what he means! During the fiery, horrible trials of today's Christian lives, we can still count on the rock-solid promises of our heavenly Father! The Lord Jesus very often reassured new believers that he would never leave them or turn away from them, and he never did!  His word was always kept and is still, today, at this moment of our lives, as rock-solid as it was thousands of years ago! Much of what we read in testimonials has to do with a particular, or several, physical illnesses, and our health is just about the most immediate need any of us have! Jesus always met someone at their greatest need, health! The woman with the 'issue of blood' for over much of her life comes to my mind! While she saw Jesus walking among a crowd, she said to herself, "if I can only touch his clothes, I will be healed"! She had great faith! When she approached him and finally was able to touch the edge of his garment, Jesus 'felt' strength leave him and he turned to see who had touched him, though he was well aware of it all along, and he saw the woman! She was made well from that moment! Her faith made her well! The lepers that Jesus beheld and had mercy on were all healed, though only one came back to thank him! After seeing the grief of Mary and Martha, Lazarus' sisters, and grieving himself for his friend, The Lord raised Ladurus from the dead! Wow! Are you kidding me? Nope! He actually healed a man from death and made him live! Now, I would say that that is the best doctor in the world to have around! Wouldn't you? God is full of mercy and he will not change anything in his character! He is our healer! Our doctor! He is ready to heal us when we are ready to believe it! Faith is the key that opens the supernatural doors!  Jesus also raised up a man's precious daughter when she had fallen ill and died! Her father was grieved but he knew, by faith, what to do! He had to get to the only one who could give life back! He had to get to the doctor!  To Jesus!

So in todays world, among all of it's excruciating troubles and trials of sickness, money-woes, family breakups and death, we can still go to the 'true doctor' of our souls, Jesus, and get the spiritual medicine we need from his word! He doesn't change! Hebrews 13:5 let's us know that! The Lord will not change, ever!  He is the very same healer, father, best friend and advocate (lawyer, if you prefer) today as he was when his good friend, Ladarus, had died! No different!  Our battles have not changed either in all that time! Scripture is very clear when speaking about this situation, as well! The battle is not in the 'physical world', though that's where we live but its in the 'spiritual world'!  We fight against our friends, co-workers, government (my pet peace) and against our loved ones when that is not the true area of conflict! The bible is a supernatural book, as my friend, L A Marzulli often says, and the war we are constantly in is a spiritual one! We can only gain victory in that world by weapons of faith! Not faith in 'faith' but faith in the power of God! He is the mighty King and warrior, not us, after all, and its only through his power and might that we can trust to get us through the most difficult days and moments of our life! One of my favorite bits of scripture is found in Hebrews 11 verse 1, which states it all clearly...."NOW faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"! It's the "NOW" kind of faith which leads us to see where the victory is...in Jesus! It's not in us! It could never be in us! We are weak and mortal and we aren't very trustworthy, let's face it! But in Christ, Job was victorious, as was Lasarus and the woman with the issue of blood! It works the same way for us who are modern day believers! Our warfare is "not carnal, but mighty THROUGH GOD, to the pulling down of strongholds"! (kjv) and when we realize that crystal-clear truth, we will be able to move ahead into this thing called life and nothing will stop us, short of death, which is only temporary anyway!

Be encourage believer and stay in faith!  Walk forward not backward in your faith!  We win!

Space Race 2018; What's All The Fuss?

With President Trump announcing his plans for a sixth branch of the military, his Space Force, and Elon Musk revealing further plans to travel through our galaxy in order to colonize Mars and other planets along with news from the Japanese orbiters on Mars revealing some "interesting discoveries", it certainly seems like a brand new 'space-race's is about to break out!

That's quite interesting and compelling to me! I am old enough to recall the first 'space race's of the 1960's between the United States and Russia and how volital it was! Many people still believe we (the U.S.) got there first, when in actuality, the Russians made it to space before we did! That seems a little academic at this point but one could say that the tension to realize the dreams of some and the mandate of other's (Trumps initiative) can be likened to the previous race!

We would do well to mention here as well, that, in recent year's encounters with ufos and alien species has greatly increased, reportedly! Sightings of ufos is certainly nothing new to our society or to many other societies for that matter and the number of reported abduction cases has also been on the rise as well! We should not be at all surprised, given the reports, that a renewed sense of urgency has prompted several governments of the world to quickly jump into 'warp-speed', if you will, and grab hold of the lead in the revived space race! It makes for a very interesting and engaging summer for those of us who enjoy news concerning space, astronomy, exploration and, maybe, most importantly, Star Trek, and to get just a little excited!

Here is to the race to space and to the adventures ahead!  Warp speed everyone!

The Mercy-Seat

The Mercy-seat atop of the ark of the covenant is the location of where the blood of the atoning sacrifice by the Jews in antiquity was spread! When Jesus Christ died on the cross just outside the city gates of Jerusalem, his precious blood was shed to be the atoning sacrifice for my sin and your sin, as well as being the very blood spilled upon the top (left) portion of the mercy-seat on the ark of the covenant, sitting directly under the place of the cross of Christ! Over 600 years before, the ark was hidden under the place-of-the-skull called, Golgatha! Only Almighty God could have orchestrated this awesome miracle for Ron Wyatt to discover in the 1990's!

An amazing story and fact which has taken much 'heat' over the unimaginable finding! However, God's plan is perfect and no man, fallen angel or satan himself, can deny it! All glory goes to the LORD God of the universe!

The Trial Of Our Faith

There is little doubt that those who profess themselves to be true, "born-again believers"in the LORD JESUS Christ are finding that they are being bombarded by what the bible calls, 'manifold trials or temptations'!In many countries throughout the world there is severe persecution upon Christians! It is especially harsh in the middle-east countries, as many know! These persecutions are part of the life of a genuine 'believer in Christ's! The normal, everyday afflictions that are just facts of human life have to also be factored into the equation! It is, however, a tragic fact that the Christian religion (though it really isn't about a religion) is suffering far more persecution in the entire world than any other to date! That isn't new! The reality is that this persecution has gone on since the days of Jesus, over two thousand years ago, and it does not show signs of slowing down any! In fact, it seems to be escalating! Many mid-east Christians lose their life or are imprisoned for their faith! That was commonplace during the time of the apostles of Jesus! It's the same today. No difference at all, except, maybe, that it is much worse now! I might be guilty of speaking out-of-turn there but I think you get my point! In 1st Peter 1:7-9, we see that Peter was speaking to those who were "new" Christians throughout the area around Greece and trying to encourage them during their many trials (manifold temptations vs.6) and trying to teach them that the "the end of your faith, even your salvation" was what awaits them when this life is over! We must, as true believers, be willing to lay down our own life, in full, at the feet of Jesus and be his servants! Servants are not slaves! If we do this 'willingly' he has promised to give us great reward and the power of his 'Holy Spirit' to guide us during these hard times! The question is...are we willing to do just that? To lay everything we own and everything we are (our very soul's) are the feet of the LORD in order to gain the "life more abundant" which he has promised to give us during our time on the earth. The best part of that deal, I believe, belongs to us as we get to have 'eternal life's and spend it with Jesus and those we love who were saved! Man, what a deal! Are you willing to, if I may borrow a line from a friend, "put all your money on Jesus", and give up everything here in reverential trust? Or are you afraid of losing your family, job, marriage, health in order to serve him? It's tough, but the best thing's and opportunities in life are the toughest ones to gain but they yield the very best 'returns' on our investment! Life is hard and the life of a 'real' Christian is, in many ways, much harder to live, however, it is well-worth the fight! Don't let the enemies of God influence you! Give your "all" to him and watch the amazing results of God's goodness show up in abundance!

Time And Time Again

Time travel. What a fascinating and difficult topic to discuss! For much of my life my mind and spirit have been fixated upon the enigmatic proposal of time travel! Whether it is really possible or if my own imagination has devoted a large area of space to this very unconventional subject, regardless of it's validity! I just love thinking about it! I have question over and over again if there is enough science to 'back it up' and, if so, how do I go about exploring it? Where do I begin? If it works, will I ever return to the present or will I be lost in a black hole, roaming through dimensional space for eternity? I'm pretty certain that would not happen, but it is worth thinking about.

Since the young age of 14 I have continually written articles and short-stories which were devoted to time travel and I don't see any evidence of slowing down today. Somehow, I think, this subject is important to me, on a very personal level! I have no idea why...yet! My determination here is not in doubt. Only the methods by which I must proceed are in question! I must determine where to begin! It is vital for scientific study and even spiritual significance, in my opinion! God is my resource in any case! The quest will be worth every second of effort, for certain! No time to waste....hahaha!

Into the future or back to the past? Which will it be?
Some have said that there is biblical evidence of traveling to an appointed spot in the future, as in the case of Paul, the apostle, and on the Mount of transfiguration for Jesus, Moses and Elijah! Based on this biblical evidence, I am much more comfortable in proceeding further. There needs to be tons more research done in order to even know what it is I'm looking for! I'm looking for answers! The journey to finding more knowledge begins with a first step! As with anything important, dedication, patience and determination are invaluable tools one has to have! I am convinced that I possess all three of the requirements, thank the Lord!

Excitement and adventure are my guiding motives right now, along with a great deal of curiosity! It's a quest for knowledge, after all! I can go no further than God has previously determined, however, and it is my intention to abide by his rule of law! My love for the LORD and my desire to learn more are basic 'driving-forces' that guide me, above all other notions! Without God in my life, I may or may not have been consumed with finding the answer to this puzzle, but it is certain that I wouldn't have the inner drive to keep going! I give the LORD all the credit for giving me this desire to know and to even consider this quest! The glory is all his!

I realize I could have put a bunch of scientific theories on the subject in here, but I don't think either you or I would get much out of a swath of statistics and diagrams proving or disproving the theory of time-travel! Wouldn't be much fun and this, on a small scale, at least, is meant to be fun! If it wasn't fun I wouldn't do it! Sounds just like an adventurer, doesn't it? Let the journey begin....somewhere....and let us jump in with both feet, set our moorings, prepare the ship, and...well, you know what I mean! Let's get busy and find our answer, together!

In Due Time

We are told in Romans 5;6 of the Holy bible that "when we were without strength, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly (me)"! That is very encouraging to me and it's the main reason I have titled this article after the mid-section of the verse! I hope it brings encouragement to you as well.

Thinking about being "without strength" can cover much ground in a Christians life! We are constantly bombarded from every side with temptations and we are thoroughly worn out by daily routines such as our job or business! Our time with family, especially with children, comes with greater demands today than was the case just a few decades ago! We do, however, 'sign I'm for this duty, despite the fact that we like to pretend we didn't! Our lot was chosen and we are either "all the way in" or we aren't!

Each of us reaches a 'breaking-point' at some time or other in our walk! It's almost inevitable! For men, it's normally a physical break, but for many women, it's much more an emotional one! If you have been married for any length of time, you are certainly aware of this fact! That's an extra bonus for you. No charge! Being married to a mate who is supportive of what you are trying to do for Christ is essential but not critical, in my opinion! Whether your mate supports you or not is really irrelevant when it comes to serving the LORD! We are called by God to serve, first! All other relationships, including marriage, are secondary to this call! If we are blessed to have a wife or husband who has as much of a desire to serve God as you do, so much the better! It certainly lends help to us from a natural standpoint! A good woman is not hard to find if you allow God to do the picking for you! The same goes for finding a good husband, ladies!

In Due time, to me, speaks directly to any moment, or moments, when we face our 'melting-point'. In times of weariness or weakness (spiritual) finding out that God "has our back" can go a long way and propel us to greater heights of service for him! It is vital that we keep this perspective fresh at during those times! The enemy is here to destroy the believer-in-Christ, remember!? Being re-newed with His strength will allow us the means and power to continue on, no matter what satan throws at us, and we, in turn, bring glory to God with faithful endurance and service! After all, doesn't the LORD deserve the most effort and sacrifice we can give? He did it for us and we didn't deserve anything at all! God is awesome like that! Be blessed, folks!
