Just In Time

There is never enough time! That's what many of us say during a routine day's activities. Whatever the situation, whether at work or at recreation, it seems that we can never do all that we desire to because time just 'runs out'!  We are bound by certain physical laws in this life!..Gravity, survival and time.

Why do we view our lives from the perspective of time?  What 'hold' does it trap us with?  Can we ever break free from its grasp?  It seems that there is either too little or just too much time woven into the fabric of our existence!  Each of us have schedules to keep, appointments to make and calenders to observe from the first day of the week to the last! Never enough time to complete our task!

Is time somehow controlling each of us?  Are we simply prisoners, locked away in its cold and dark dungeon?  Let your mind contemplate this hypothesis...we all have the boundries of time seeded within our souls!  Seconds, minutes and hours weave their way through our 'being', causing an eruption of fury and anxiety at the idea of being 'late' for a meeting in one scenario, only to bring a calming sense of tranquility in another. We have no control over this entity!

Time is important to us!  For a salesman, it could mean the newest client is 'locked in' or just walked out the door. For a fireman, just a few seconds can decide whether someone is rescued or doesn't make it out alive!   Time can be either an ally or an enemy to all of us!

Knowing all this, I have often wondered if time can be, somehow, manipulated?  Can we actually penetrate through the lining of time and space to travel through its layers, bouncing from a past event to a future one?  Its speculation, I admit, but it has intrigued me since my teenage years.  Just what if?

Wouldn't it be a life-altering discovery to find that we can change certain things in our lives and bring about a different ending, or maybe, a beginning?  Then to once again bend those boundries and orchestrate yet another outcome.  A very fascinating concept, most certainly!  Traveling through the centuries as easily as one travels from room to room. Causing a very different outcome than the one we know!

Is it just foolishness to wonder about such a thing?  Am I stepping to close to the edge of the cliff?
Whatever the case, this thought has been with me from as far back as I can remember...maybe longer than I realize!  Time.  Is it really so solid that one could never break its foundations?  Is it so strong that we can not effect it in the slightest?  I wonder.

Whether we can go sailing throughout the sea of time and space, as any fan of Star Trek knows, is only limited by our imagination!  If we are to become time-travelers for even an instant, we must take that first step of belief, followed by definite effort and constant resolve!  Only God himself knows if we have already done just that!

How much time do we have?
What an amazing time we live in! For anyone who would dare to try and put together the events and the natural and super-natural things that have flooded our world just within the last few years into a simple one-line paragraph, it would be quite an undertaking.

Maybe  one could say the current events swirling through our world could be called, "indescribable" or "unreal", but these words just don't seem to bring together all that has transpired on the earth in the past few years. To describe these events would require an 'insiders' look, so to speak.

What is my point, you might ask? Just this. Our lives and our world are connected to the natural and the super-natural! Each one of us has a part in the daily grind and routines of each other, in some way. We get up each day and either work a 9 to 5 job, take care of duties at home, care for our elderly parents or work from home. Whatever the situation, we are connected at some point. The natural and super-natural surrounds each of us!

The current news headlines, whether you listen to the mainline newscast or an alternative show, fill up our minds and our spirits with an assortment of news-worthy events. Whether its weather-related, a tragic car-accident, an economic-upheaval or a huge sink-hole somewhere, we will know about in 'real time'!

Whatever the event or situation, we have to realize sooner or later that our actions and our choices matter. In fact, our involvement is required, you could say. The timing of every choice we make will impact the lives of others around us. We cant escape it. The connection is real and its orchestrated! We will do one thing or the other. Even not making a choice is choosing to do nothing.

Looking at all that has transpired recently around this globe we could easily 'fold our tents' and go home, give in to discouragement or depression. Giving up is NOT the answer! Since we are all connected and have been created (yes, created, not evolved) in the image of God, we are all 'family'!
Our neighbor needs our help. Our encouragement and our attention.

The next thing to come around the corner could be something that changes our world-view and our lives forever! Whether it is natural or super-natural, it is crucial that we understand..we are in this together.
So the title of this post is, 'crunch time', because I truly believe that is where
we are at today. Its time to do what we have been called to do.

Go to that neighbor, friend and family-member and give them the best of you. They are waiting, looking and seeking. Show them what it means to be a "servant of God" and open your hands to take theirs and lead them in the 'right' direction. They are waiting. Go!
