What was it that moved Lucas to explore this unknown territory of time-travel, anyway? Could it be that he had actually done it before and was now realizing the familiar ground he found himself on
was a place he had been before? There was something about these woods that was familiar or felt
that way to him. The smells, the trees looked familiar and even the rocks along the edge of the long line of trees seemed 'normal' to him. He had to ask himself, why that was?

Walking rather cautiously through the thick brush, Lucas scanned the forest for anything or any-
body that didn't look 'right'. Anything that didn't 'belong' there. He knew. He could tell if there was
a tree, a branch or flat area that wasn't consistent with what he remembered. Maybe he had been here before.  Just maybe he had!

It would be nightfall soon and Lucas realized he was alone and unprepared for the cold that would come! He had to find some shelter somewhere and a place he could feel safe, if he came across anything that wasn't exactly friendly. "No telling what's in here, that's for sure!", he heard himself say. "I guess if I need to, I can put something together like MacGyver and defend myself! Too bad I don't have some duct tape and chewing gum to help me out." MacGyver would be proud of his
idea, anyway.

As the reader, maybe you too have wandered into that mysterious place. Maybe you have asked the question...could it be possible to travel through the confines of time and space? Einstein could have been right, couldn't he!?  To journey from once instance in time to another!  Wow, what a concept!
All we need to perform this greatest-of-all-adventures is a vast imagination!

Let the adventure begin, or, maybe it has begun..already.

Looking at my own life I realize that this subject has occupied much of it and that I have memory's
of being fascinated with time-travel since my childhood.  Why?  This subject even brings out some
emotional response inside me!  Maybe, if you will permit me to muse, I am entangled with the subject because I am 'meant' to take part in it, if it is indeed possible. I don't know and I don't want to come across as a little narcissistic or deranged! Its just that the possibility of actually traveling throughout the confines of space/time is such a personal idea for me.  I cant explain it.

It would be easy to say that my mind has been strongly influenced by sci-fi shows like Star Trek (my favorite, I admit) and Dr.Who but that's not even close!  Its a belief, as strong as any I have and
I am convinced that, in someway, I am 'locked in' and headed headlong into the mystery of time-travel!  What an adventure!  Just imagine on your own the ramifications and alternative realities that may have already been created because someone somewhere has accomplished the impossible!

Back to the distant past. Ahead into the unseen future. Wow, what an epic idea! One thing is very certain..the only way time-travel can be a reality is by the permission and permissive will of Almighty God! Period!  Man wants to take the credit but there are just some things that can only come through the power and sovereignty of God!

As Lucas has done, lets ride along with him on the winding rivers of time.  Who knows, maybe we will meet ourselves.

back and forth

Your skin begins to vibrate on your face!  Violent tremors rip throughout your body with such force that you believe you are dying! Soon your entire body is vibrating and the next thing you know, you are no longer in your bedroom but you are standing on a dusty, dirt road surrounded by men on horses who stare at you with confused expressions.

Being confused yourself you turn to see one of those men climbing down from his horse and walking rather determined toward you! Your body stiffens and you manage to ask a question..."where am I"?  The stranger stops just a few feet in front of you and smiles, slightly, and in a rusty voice that makes him sound like a Darth Vader impressionist, he answers, "don't you know"?

"If I knew I wouldn't be asking...!", you quickly answer back.  The stranger looks at you as if he is trying to figure out whether you are serious or being a smart aleck. He pushes some brush away with his feet and spits out some sunflower seeds off to one side, gazing out into some deep wooded area just behind you. Not certain what this man might be about, you start to walk away but he steps in front of you and grabs your arm with a tight grip, like a vice!

Pushing his hand back you angrily respond, "hey, what's the deal, man"?  "you don't want to be heading in that direction, trust me"!, he says.  The wooded area was the direction which the stranger was referring to. Filled with wide, dark pine trees, meshed together with bigger oak trees, the woods
appeared to have eerie shapes and figures to you, almost 'shadow-like'

Perhaps its determination or maybe curiosity that prevails, but turning around toward those thick woods, you don't walk timidly but burst into a sprint, heading right for the center part of the tree-line and into the thick, dense forest.

The majority of people are more afraid of the dark and the unknown than of anything else! There are some, however, who seem to have an absence of any type of fear inside their hearts. Great courage fills these folks spirit and they can accomplish feats that appear to be almost 'super human'!
They aren't deterred or timid about what waits for them just ahead, whether its facing a doctor with a terminal diagnosis, a financial fiasco or dealing with the supernatural! No matter what the situation, they move forward with grit and confindence.

Throughout his adult life, Lucas has envisioned what time travel would be like. He has been consumed with the theory of time travel and some might say he has been 'obsessed' with the notion!
Much of his daily routine and even his leisure time has been engaged with discovering one of the most discussed but unproven subjects mankind has ever approached!

Lucas is no stranger to loss. His sister, his nephew, a long-time job that he enjoyed and some very good friends along this uncertain path he has chosen. His emotional strength has been harshly attacked by those who said they loved him. Finally, his sanity came into question by family, friends and those who did not agree with the 'subject matter' which he so patiently defended!

None of that mattered in the long-run. He was 'called' to do this, he felt. He wasn't sure how he knew this but there was no mistake about it. It was what he was meant to do! Lucas wasn't a religious man and he didn't "see any need in it right now", as he often told the clergy that was brave enough to approach him with their message.

Whatever Lucas believed in, he wasn't one to tell too many people about it. His own 'faith; was placed more in his own ability to get himself out of 'sticky' situations rather than in any religion.
What others confessed to believe in, Lucas seemed to steer 'clear' of and head in the other direction.
He was a man of pride and self-assurance! Being of Cherokee blood passed down from his grand-
mother, his survival-instincts often showed up during many of those 'sticky' messes!
